We are holding an event in Northside this August 21st. There will be food, music, poetry, and more! This is a chance to engage with your community and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon.
Logistics & Accessibility
The event will be held from 2-5 pm at the Quaker Meeting House (120 3rd St). We are trying to be as accessible as possible in our planning. There will be Spanish, Burmese and Karen translators at the event, and childcare will be provided.
We'll kick off the afternoon with some musical and poetic performances, more of which will be scattered throughout the three hours. We'll have a short intermission for food, several Q+A's, and the highlight of the event: the mock PB process. Here, you'll see 10 different projects- ways to improve the community- around the room, and vote on which ones you'd most like to see.
After the last Q+A, there will be a next steps section (what's happening with the campaign, how you can stay updated, etc.) followed by more performances. Finally, we'll end the night with an open mic- open to any and all, be it music, poetry, comedy, stories, whatever you'd like to share!
